This is the second box I have received from Alice & White (previous box review here) so I am excited to see what it contains this season which is the winter, or L’Hiver, box. I have to say though that this box looks so cute with all the products held within a cardboard box that’s wrapped in the loveliest red bow that it really cheered me up as soon as I received it. However the main downside at this time is that this new box is making me want to order some more beauty boxes! So let’s get down to business and see what’s included……
Bodhi & Birch Body Oils Mini Collection £20 (Travel size) – I love a body oil and these three little 15ml vials are really enticing. The selection includes Lemon & Rose, Sprice & Fennel and Hyacinth & Ginger and are called Sicilian Rose, Nordic White and Chinois Blue respectively. I can’t wait to get lathering them across my skin as all three smell delicious but my favourite has to be the Spruce & Fennel. The brand and packaging looks simple but attractive enough and the ingredients list is 90% certified organic and vegan. All in all these look like a great proposition but I will report back once I have done some rigorous testing.
Herbfarmacy Replenishing Face Cream £ 23.5 (Full size) – I have to say I already have a real love for this brand after I met the owner of the brand at a Soil Association event. When you meet someone who is so passionate and devoted to their craft it is impossible not to fall in love with what they produce even before trying it out. Due to this I am so super excited to get this little 60ml pot open as soon as possible and dive into it. It is all organic, entirely homegrown and only ever tested on the friends of the brand. With its mix of Marshmallow, Ginko, Rosehip & Damask Rose I am very interested to see the results and the ingredient list looks wonderful. It does say that it is aimed at dry and mature skin but presume that it will still work wonders on most skin types due to this.
Ecoya Lip Balm £ 8.75 (full size) – I absolutely adore the aesthetic of this brand, I think it looks so lovely and luxurious. The initial smell is distinctly peppermint, which I am not entirely sure would be my first choice to put on my lips as I would prefer a lighter aroma, but I will have to wait and see how it goes when I wear it constantly for a few days. Hopefully if it does a good job moisturising my lips the aroma will be the least of my concerns.
Evolve Liquid Crystal Micellic Cleanser £ 7 (Travel Size) – This 30ml pump action cleanser is surprisingly runny when you pump it. I was taken aback when I first saw it shoot across the back of my hand. I was intrigued enough just reading about it but when I saw this I really can’t wait to see how it performs! It contains Hyaluronic acid, Pomegranate and Rose and is hand made in hertfordshire by Leanne. I love these little touches of attention to detail and already feel I like the sound of Leanne carefully and lovingly making this product. This cleanser also advises the use of a cotton pad due to its viscosity which is something I haven’t come across in ages! Lets see what it’s like!!
Hing Winter Candle £ 15.34 (Travel Size) – This is the only brand in the box that I have not come across before. As the name suggests the smell is hugely reminiscent of winter itself as the candle is made of rapeseed wax and scented with organic essential oils. The smell is described as cinnamon and clove yet for me it conjures up images in my mind of being in a wood cabin in a snow covered forest whilst you snuggle up in front of an open fire. I guess that means it smells like a smoky woodiness if I am looking for a less evocative and more grounded description. I love candles and I think this one might be great for the cold festive months.
This box is available from Alice & White and cost me around £42.78 and as always is a great reduction from the combined price of all the products contained which would amount to £74.58. I can’t wait to start my testing of all these products so keep your eyes peeled for my proper reviews over the next few months.
