Every single year as summer approaches I always have the same worry that starts to manifest in my mind: how do I get rid of this damn cellulite that has once again managed to entrench itself on my thighs during the winter months!! I know I should learn but sadly I never seem to realise that the evil partnership of laziness and patisseries will alway get the best of me!
I have to say that having fine, dry, wavy hair really is a complete nightmare. It doesn’t seem to be able to handle anything no matter whether it’s heat, brushing, humidity, wind…..literally nothing! I have to devote so much extra time and care in an attempt to avoid looking like a Yeti with hay for hair! Having learnt this fact well enough over the years I now always use either a cream or a serum on my hair in the vain attempt to help smooth and control the frizz. I usually opt for either the 2moss cream or alternatively my own personal hand made serum which works wonders! Even though I love the bought product I have to say (and I could be just a smidgen biased) but my hair absolutely adores the serum! It does everything I need and gives a spectacular softness and shine whilst providing nutrition and controlling the frizz. As always I have tried to ensure that it is super fast to make and really easy to do so that everyone can have this serum in their hair product arsenals at all times……in fact this is probably the easiest recipe to make in the world! I think that my very first foray into the world of products had to be a fascination I developed as a young child for bath bombs! Even now the thought of their amazing fizz when dropped into a bath cheers me up no end but when I was small it sent me into a full on fever pitch. I have recently mentioned this to a few other people and realised that lots of them also started out buying bath bombs before any other items, so it obviously is a shared memory for lots of people. As you get older though you start to investigate all the other products the industry has to offer and I think bath bombs are sometimes seen as a more childish and playful object. I refuse to look down upon them in this way though as anything fun like that is a welcome relief to me in the often dreary adult world. View Post
Last week I shared with you my Super Nourishing Lip Balm and since then I have been in two minds about which DIY recipe I should release this Sunday? I finally came to the decision that I would continue on the lip theme making this the perfect occasion for me to share my natural lip scrub recipe. It is another favourite concoction of mine as it is made not only from a selection of lovely ingredients but also incorporates one of my most beloved fruits; strawberry. This is a slight exaggeration on my behalf as the scrub is in fact not even made from strawberries themselves but from their seeds. However, this means once completed the scrubs appearance resembles a delicious strawberry jam…..just wait until you see it! The seeds make a wonderful natural exfoliant for your lips so this recipe really is a treat not just for beauty addicts but strawberry lovers too as you will be instantly drooling every time you look inside the pot. I find that my lips get really dry in winter so I constantly need to exfoliate to remove the dead and dry skin and this scrub is the perfect tool for the job. It’s also really easy to make and fun too so let’s dive right in: View Post
