Odacité Skincare Discovery Kit Review

Odacité Skincare Discovery Kit Review

I have been a huge fan of Odacité products for a while now. In fact it has been ever since I first tried their serums that I have been hooked. Odacité is a California based brand which sells a large range of skincare products but are most famous for their extensive serum range designed for a variety of skin issues. All of their products are organic, natural and use only the finest ingredients. Unfortunately we don’t get the full range of products in Europe so when I was in the US recently I made sure to visit a brilliant shop called Detox Market and headed straight to the Odacité section. I was instantly impressed to see that all the products were stored in a fridge to preserve their freshness. After a rummage through their selection I decided to get the discovery kit for combination skin which includes 7 mini skincare products and 2 face sponges (any regular readers will already know about my obsession with minis). The kit is meant to last 10 days so it’s perfect for testing the brand and discovering what works best for your skin

Rejuvenating Cleanser – This is a gentle cleanser with a smooth milky (I am tempted to say creamy but it is far less viscous than a cream) texture that leaves your skin feeling fresh, clean and not the slightest bit dry. I mainly used it as a morning cleanser because when I tried to use it to remove my makeup I needed quite a large amount to be effective in this regard. I also found it to smell a little bit strange. It’s not a very strong or offensive smell that would ever put me off using it but it was just not very pleasant in my opinion. I love beautifully fragranced products, especially when it comes to cleansers, as they make the process far more enjoyable and less of a chore. This cleanser is meant to be used with the sponges that are included in the kit but I didn’t try them as I always remove my cleansers with a damp muslin cloth.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis), Sunflower Seed (Helianthus Annuu) Oil (organic), Rose (Rosa damascena), Floral Water (Organic), Vegetable Glycerin, Wheat Germ (Triticum vulgare) Oil, Leuconostoc – radish root ferment filtrate, Non GMO Soy Lecithin, Oat beta glucan, Sucrose cocoate, Lauryl Glucoside, Tamanu (Calophyllum inophyllum) Oil, Coco-glucoside, Coconut Alcohol, Sclerotium Gum Powder, Linden (Tilia cordata) Flower Extract (Organic), Ginseng (Panax ginseng) Root Extract (Organic), Elder Flower (ambucus nigra ) Extract (Organic), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) extract (Organic), Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide), P-Anisic Acid

Divine Rose & Neroli – This is a very refreshing and nicely scented toner made with Aloe vera (Which of course is one of nature’s excellent moisturisers), Damask rose flower water (which stimulates blood circulation) and Aspen bark extracts (an anti-inflammatory). Surprisingly though I didn’t see any difference on my skin compared to other toners I have tried so at $45 for the full size I don’t think I will be running out to buy it any time soon!

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Populus tremuloides (Aspen) Bark Extract, Pancratium Maritimum Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Caprylyl/Capryl Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Fusel Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Polyglyceryl-5 Oleate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Flower Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Phenethyl Alcohol

Day Moisturizer – I found the little jar that this moisturiser comes in so lovely. However, the full size version is a pump bottle which is much better as at least it ensures that it is bacteria free. It’s full of hydrating, soothing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil, Calendula, and antioxidants like Tea extracts etc. The smell once again is not really to my liking but equally it’s not overpowering so it’s definitely not too much of a concern. When I opened the jar I was instantly worried about the consistency as it seemed too thick and heavy. I was certain that it was going to make me break out but I was actually pleasantly surprised as once I had spread it on my skin it was very light and absorbed quickly. I didn’t have any spots after the 10 days of use which is a really good sign. It kept my skin well moisturised all day long and worked great as a makeup base.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) (Organic), Coconut Oil (Organic), Lavender (avendula angustifolia) (Organic), Emulsifying Vegetable Wax, Vegetable, Glycerin, Palm Stearic Acid, Calendula officinalis Extract (Organic), White Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extract (Organic), Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis ) Oil (Organic), Olive oil (Olea europaea) (Organic), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), DMAE Bitartrate, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide), Black Willowbark (Salix nigra) Extract (Organic), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) extract (Organic), Neem (Azadirachta indica) oil

Night Time Antioxidants Repair Serum – This has a creamy texture which it is definitely not the consistency of my usual serums but when compared to the day cream it’s consistency is much lighter and more liquid. The scent of this one is absolutely divine although I am not really sure how to describe it any better than saying it smells quite like tea. I found this serum to be so moisturising that a night cream or face oil is not even necessary. In the morning I woke up with a healthy glow and really soft skin. Unsurprisingly then I absolutely love this serum! It contains a great combination of ingredients so it’s no surprise why my skin loves it! I definitely want to rebuy it but there is one slight issue, the price tag is quite high so I will just have to hope I am lucky enough to receive it as a present instead^^.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) (Organic), Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis ) Oil (Organic), Emulsifying Vegetable Wax, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Shea (Butyrospermun parkii) Butter (Organic), Lavender (avendula angustifolia) (Organic), White Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extract (Organic), Calendula officinalis Extract (Organic), Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis) extract (Organic), Olive oil (Olea europaea) (Organic), Carrot Oil (Daucus carota), MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Hyaluronic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin, Evening, Primerose (Oenothers biennis) oil, (Rosa mosqueta) Rosehip Oil, Borage Oil (Borago officinalis), Ureidohydantoin-Comfrey, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide)

Jojoba Beads Exfoliant – I really enjoyed this product. It s a very gentle exfoliant but don’t let that fool you into thinking it wasn’t effective. It is made with with small Jojoba wax beads, Aloe Vera, Coconut and Jojoba Oil. The formula is very similar to the Day cream and Night Serum with a texture that is again creamy and runny. The exfoliant did not feel at all harsh on the skin and it didn’t leave any redness, just soft, smooth, glowing skin. It does exactly what you expect from an exfoliant.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) (Organic), Coconut Oil (Organic), Jojoba Wax (Simmondsia chinensis) Beads, Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis ) Oil (Organic) Lavender (avendula angustifolia) (Organic), Emulsifying Vegetable Wax, Olive oil (Olea europaea) (Organic), Palm Stearic Acid, Calendula officinalis Extract (Organic), Vegetable Glycerin, Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis) extract (Organic), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), White Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extract (Organic), Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide)

Deep Hydration Masque – If you combine this with the Jojoba Beads Exfoliant they do an amazing job on the skin together. I used both of the products twice a week, first I exfoliated by massaging my skin in a circular motion and then rinsed off with warm water. I then patted my face dry before applying the mask and leaving it for 30 min. After just one use I saw an immediate result! This combo is super effective and leaves the skin incredibly plump, dewy and soft. Odacite claims that after just one application of the mask you should see younger, healthier & more hydrated skin. I have to say that I totally agree with tis appraisal and definitely felt my skin was healthier and hydrated but younger……I wish!! Perhaps I need to test the full size to see this change…….or jump in a time machine^^ This mask reminded me a lot of the Pai Skincare Bioregenerate Rapid Radiance Mask which I reviewed previously of here. They seem to me to have very similar results the main difference being that Pai skincare is considerably cheaper!

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) (Organic), Olive oil (Olea europaea) (Organic), Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis ) Oil (Organic), Emulsifying Vegetable Wax, Lavender (avendula angustifolia) (Organic), Palm Stearic Acid, Calendula officinalis Extract (Organic), Green Tea (Organic), Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis) extract (Organic), Evening Primerose (Oenothers biennis) oil, White Tea (Camellia sinensis) Extract (Organic), Hyaluronic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), (Rosa mosqueta) Rosehip Oil, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), DMAE Bitartrate, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide)

Ultra Effective Eye Cream – This eye cream lasted me longer than 10 days as it’s quite rich and I only ever needed to use just a tiny tiny amount. It contains Hyaluronic Acid (which moisturises the skin and plumps fine lines/wrinkles), Blue Green Algae (which improve skin’s elasticity) and Pomegranate extract (an Antioxidant). My under eye area felt very soft and nourished but in terms of fine lines couldn’t see any reduction or improvements. However, it definitely helped my dark circles as they seemed to disappear more and more each day.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) (Organic), Olive oil (Olea europaea) (Organic), Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis ) Oil (Organic), Lavender (avendula angustifolia) (Organic), Emulsifying Vegetable Wax, Palm Stearic Acid, Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis) extract (Organic), Evening Primerose (Oenothers biennis) oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Pomegranate extract (Organic), Hyaluronic Acid, Calendula officinalis Extract (Organic), Blue Green Algae – Organic, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide)

Overall I think it was a pretty positive test! I have really enjoyed using Odacité products so I guess that the question really is…….would I rebuy the full size? I definitely will for the Night Time Antioxidants Repair Serum and the Jojoba Beads Exfoliant which were my two favorites in this Kit. Have you tried any of the Odacite range and what did you think?

Wow, thank you for the comprehensive review of all the products! I’ve been eyeing Odacite for a while, they have some of their serums on Cult Beauty. I still haven’t chosen one to buy, they all seem so tempting! I didn’t even know they made toners or masks. I need to take a look at this brand more carefully. Thank you for the beautiful post!!
