Organic Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Rapid Radiance Mask – Review

Organic Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Rapid Radiance Mask Review

Pai Skincare is one of the very first natural and organic brands I tried when I started switching from conventional products to natural alternatives. They were the first brand I ever saw list all their ingredients in plain English and as at that time I didn’t have much of a clue about the meaning of latin names it was a great way for me to understand what I was putting on my face. All the products in their range are certified organic by the Soil Association and vegan-friendly which is always a huge plus point for any brand. The mask I have been testing recently is their certified organic Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Rapid Radiance Mask. If you have generally dry or dehydrated skin, or if you just feel like your skin is desperately in need of an extra intensive hydration boost, then you will be very interested in this post!

This face mask is made from Pai’s most famous and bestselling product, Rosehip Bioregenerate oil. If you have read my previous blog post about Pai skincare products you will know that I wasn’t a big fan of the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil. This surprised me though as I absolutely love their Day Cream and Toner (the article on these is here if you missed it)! To be totally honest because this mask was based on this ingredient I was a little hesitant to try it but as my skin had been feeling so dehydrated lately I thought I would give it a chance. Seeing as it is designed to provide an intensive hydration boost and this is exactly what I needed I decided to add it to my routine.

The first time I tried it I let it sit on my skin for 10 min as was advised in the instructions. It’s a very nice soft creamy texture with a mustardy tone. It smells ok, not astoundingly delicious but definitely not bad at all either, it’s a nice light smell. I think that since I have been using natural products so much more my scent palette has changed completely and find myself unable to bear overpowering smells anymore. To cut a long story short, I was really happy with the light fragrance! After the ten minutes had elapsed I removed the mask with the muslin cloth provided. I was not a big fan of this cloth as it was a bit too harsh for my skin so next time I swapped it for my usual cloth (which I will review on my blog comprehensively soon).

So what did I think about the result? Well, I didn’t see much of a visible result and also didn’t feel much of an effect on my skin either positive or negative. However, as always I like to give another chance to products and try slightly vary the methods of application to see if they work better, I started test number two. This second time I decided I would leave the mask on for about 30 minutes, far longer than than the brand recommended! This time it felt a bit drier on the skin, like having a clay mask, but that shouldn’t have been a huge surprise as the mask contains Kaolin so it makes perfect sense. I’m very happy to say I was right to give it a second try! My skin felt so much better, far plumper and more nourished. The third time I tried it I changed tactics again and it was even much more efficient. I exfoliated my face first with S/He Studio Face Exfoliant and then applied the mask. Wow, this time I really got the radiant touch the name implies but definitely not as rapidly as they claimed. I can’t complain though as it really does work and that’s the most important thing surely? This is definitely one of my most hydrating masks I have in my arsenal now and I’m going to use it sparingly and strategically as I think it will be even more useful during the winter months when my skin is at its most dry.

To get the most of this mask I personally would advise you to exfoliate first and then leave it on for 30 min! This didn’t seem to me to be the kind of mask that will give you soft baby skin only using it on its own so make sure to start your pampering session with a face exfoliant! Have you tried this product before? What did you think?
