Maison Meunier reviewI absolutely love it when I stumble across new natural beauty brands, it’s like a little gift just falling into your lap. One of the great ways that this happens is when I get receive a Beauty boxes which contains a brand I have never encountered. I then instantly go and delve into their history, ethics, ingredients and product range and gorge myself on their company until I know every last little detail. This is exactly the route that lead me to finding a new brand called Maison Meunier. In fact the exact steps were that once I had reviewed this initial product, Natacha, the owner of the brand got in touch with me saying how much she loved the honesty and originality of my review and would I like to test some advanced versions of the new ranges that they were currently formulating. So this initial interaction with their coffee scrub has since developed into a great relationship. Sometimes blogging really has some amazing perks! So you can imagine how happy I was when this second package dropped onto my doormat and opened it to find a treasure trove of goodies. Included within were a Candle, bath salts and a beautiful bar of soap. Also included were four top secret products that she is currently developing for me to test but i can’t say any more about them except…….watch this space!

So some of the interesting information I gleamed was that all Maison Meunier products are 100% natural and handcrafted in UK and just by looking I could see that their products come in beautiful elegant packaging. I am a sucker for great branding, beautiful logos and lovely packaging as it is often what first entices you about a product and she has done a wonderful job in these areas. So next was onto some testing of the products themselves so after some new years eve madness I desperately needed a relaxing day doing nothing. What was called for was a full day pampering myself so I let the ritual begin!

First, I lighted the candle to give a a bit of ambiance, the one I received is called Impetueux and is made from vegetable wax with a fragrant mix of Bergamot, Tobacco, Jasmine spices, Vetiver, Cedarwood and Patchouli. It smells really nice, not overpowering in any regard which was my initial worry when I read the list of scents. It is a really light and pretty scent. One of the big tests for a candle is whether it burns equally and I am glad to say that once the wick was lit everything melted at a perfectly even rate.

Once the air was saturated with the beautiful aroma I then ran my bath and poured in the salts. They also had a lovely smell and the inclusion of the petals gave a lovely visual aspect to my bath as it filled with water. These petals mixed with the salt selection which includes organic epsom salt and organic pink Himalayan salts made a lovely combination. There is also Kaolin clay, lavender herb, rose flower, organic sweet orange peel oil, lavender leaf oil, ylang ylang flower oil and calendula flower. All in all a lovely selection of ingredients which I will happily admit worked wonders and really relaxed me. The two scents together, candle and bath salts, complimented each other and I felt in a beautiful little bubble.

So once I was happily submerged with these beautiful oils circulating around my lungs I was starting to feel a hundred times better and far more refreshed. I then picked up the third product of the trio and forced myself to actually move and start lathering up the Charcoal Cleansing Bar. This soap came wrapped in beautiful paper with the company logo emblazoned upon it and as I unwrapped it I could see their fantastic dark colour of the charcoal. It is a dark, but sumptuous, grey colour with slight ripples throughout. I was absolutely blown away when I saw this natural soap start to foam up as I don’t think in all my years I have ever seen another natural soap lather up as much. I am not sure what witchcraft Natacha has employed but this soap worked wonders and left my skin feeling so lovely and soft. All the ingredients I have seen in lots of other soaps but never found them to be quite as effective, including organic coconut oil, organic shea butter, cocoa butter, extra virgin olive oil, Sodium, organic sunflower oil, organic castor oil, rosehip oil, tea tree oil, lavender oil and Charcoal powder. Obviously charcoal has the added benefits of purifying the skin so is a great addition in a soap.

I can’t wait to now test out all the new products I have from Maison Meunier and see what else they are working on. All I can say for now is that I am very excited about the prospects of this new find from what I have experienced so far. If you have tried any of their products let me know what your thoughts were below and if you have any requests for Natacha then I will try and pass them on!
