Last week I shared with you my Super Nourishing Lip Balm and since then I have been in two minds about which DIY recipe I should release this Sunday? I finally came to the decision that I would continue on the lip theme making this the perfect occasion for me to share my natural lip scrub recipe. It is another favourite concoction of mine as it is made not only from a selection of lovely ingredients but also incorporates one of my most beloved fruits; strawberry. This is a slight exaggeration on my behalf as the scrub is in fact not even made from strawberries themselves but from their seeds. However, this means once completed the scrubs appearance resembles a delicious strawberry jam…..just wait until you see it! The seeds make a wonderful natural exfoliant for your lips so this recipe really is a treat not just for beauty addicts but strawberry lovers too as you will be instantly drooling every time you look inside the pot. I find that my lips get really dry in winter so I constantly need to exfoliate to remove the dead and dry skin and this scrub is the perfect tool for the job. It’s also really easy to make and fun too so let’s dive right in:

How to make an easy natural homemade Lip Scrub (10ml)

1 tsp Mango Butter (Beurre de Mangue)

½ tsp Beeswax (Cire d’abeille)

2 tsp Jojoba or Vanilla macerat

1½  Strawberry Seeds (Exfoliant Pepins de fraise)

2 Caster Sugar (Sucre)

1 drop Vitamin E

A touch of  Mineral Pink Oxide (Une petite pincée de Oxyde Rose)

All these ingredients are available on the Aroma-Zone website

Melt the Mango Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba/Vanilla Macerated (use vanilla macerated if you like a nicer scented scrub) and Pink Oxyde in a bain marie on a low heat. Once it’s all melted together remove from the heat and add the Sugar, Strawberries seeds and Vitamin E. Mix it all well and pour the mixture into the container and let it cool overnight. Then the next day your scrub will be ready to use (A huge bonus point to this recipe is that you can keep this product for 6 months)! Apply a small amount of the product on your lips, gently massage and then remove the excess with a tissue. This scrub will remove dead skin and leaves your lips soft, smooth and nourished.

. Mango butter soothes softens and protect the lips

. Beeswax seals in hydration

. Jojoba oil penetrates deep into the skin without leaving a surface film, forming a barrier that locks the moisture in and keeps the lips soft and supple

. Strawberry seeds and Sugar exfoliate the lips gently and leave the lips smooth

. Vitamin E protects the oil and butter from turning rancid

. Mineral Pink Oxide gives a pink color to the product

With this scrub you will be perfectly equipped for the winter ensuring you maintain soft lips throughout the colder months and ridding yourself of the dreaded cracked or chapped lips!
