Disappointing Luxury Beauty Products

I am going to begin this post with a caveat, not because I am worried in any regard but just because throughout my time as a skincare product addict I have learnt only one thing for certain: different products have completely different results on different people’s skin. That honestly is just about the only cast iron fact anyone can give when it comes to skin care so always beware of anyone who tries to tell you differently! So the reason that I say this is because today I want to talk about three products I have tested recently and have had really disappointing results for me. This could have been compounded because I was really looking forward to trying them and this always makes the downfall ever greater. Also when products are so expensive I expect even better results. However the more I am learning the less I am finding this to be the truth. So onto the first disappointing product…….

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

I received this lovely little green and gold pot in what I have come to call a ‘beauty box’. I signed up to have these boxes of products sent to me so I could try loads of new products and hopefully be surprised by some brands I had never heard of. When I opened the box and saw the pot I instantly knew the brand as I had read loads about this award winning product and really wanted to see how good it really was. I must mention now that just as I started to write this post I finally checked the price of this product and all I can say is wow, it’s nearly £50! After a few uses of this mask I didn’t really notice anything, barely any result. My skin felt a little tighter but barely noticeably and that even was probably just me trying to convince myself of any positive results. After a few attempts I gave up and moved onto products that work for me far better. On a positive note though it does say it is 100% natural and Non-Toxic so at least there is that.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

Next up is this cleansing balm and my feelings about this one are more than indifferent. I found this to be worse than a disappointment and actually brought me out in blemishes and spots. Now as always this could be other stimuli behind this reaction such as hormones, stress or any number of environmental factors. This is why I always like to try products in different times and places to see if the same result is replicated. Guess what……more spots! I really noticed the breakouts mostly around my jaw area every single time I used the product. The texture really was interesting and unique, it started out like a thick past and when rubbed and warmed up it basically just became an oil. I am very glad I had a 30% discount on this one as it costs just shy of £50 too! I honestly expect wonderful results from anything in this price range and this was worse than awful. It didn’t even remove makeup that well!

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

This mask was one step ahead of the other products as its price point hovers around the £30 mark so already at least we are £20 better off and can have a nice brunch even if the product is an absolute let down……and sadly this one is. I even double checked with a friend and she literally said exactly the same as me and felt that after a month’s use neither of us noticed any sort of difference. The texture is quite weird, a bit tacky/gooey and for some reason it really reminds me of jam. However it does smell quite nice and citrusy. I did some delving and even though I don’t have acne a lot of people who do said this product really didn’t help at all and actually irritated their skin even more. I also read that some of the active ingredients weren’t even in large enough quantities to do as they claimed but I can’t say this for certain without a lot more research……but I didn’t even think that was justified as I was so let down by this product and didn’t think it was worth spending even 5 more minutes on it. On the plus points I can say that this product is entirely vegan so at least it scores a few plus points on that front.

So I would love to hear if your experience with these products were similar to mine or if you think you found a different result because you have a different skin type? I felt so disappointed by all three of these products and I know that the addition of the whopping price tag just exacerbated this massively.
