Josh Rosebrook Nourish Shampoo & Conditioner – Review

Josh Rosebrook Nourish Shampoo & Conditioner Review

So recently I have seen a wealth of new products and ranges being released in the natural world all sitting within a visual style that I think soon is going to become the aesthetic for all green beauty. One of the stalwarts of this style is a brand called Josh Rosebrook who have been at the forefront of this movement for a while now both in terms of their ingredients and outlook as well as their visual identity within the market. You can tell as soon as you look at the bottle that they want to portray themselves as clean, ethical and good for you……everything I like to see in a product. I have tried two of his face masks previously and you can find my review of them here. The next items on my list that I have been waiting quite a while to get the chance to test are his Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. As I had used up all my other shampoos I decided now was the perfect time so I turned on my shower and jumped in with the two bottles!

Josh Rosebrook Nourish Shampoo Review

When I opened the Shampoo the smell was absolutely sumptuous and was reminiscent of citrus fruit, I don’t quite know how to explain this but to me it smells exactly how I imagine the archetypical shampoo to smell (I would like to say it smells shampooey but I am not sure if i can get away with that!). The ingredient list is top notch with the longest list I have ever seen on a natural product and as far as I can make out most of them being certified organic. As I used the shampoo it didn’t lather that much but this is a trait of most natural shampoos that you get used to very soon after moving away for the chemicals. It takes a few washes to get used to this effect but it certainly doesn’t mean that the shampoos work any less efficiently. I can vouch for this fact as the shampoo cleansed my hair so gently and yet it didn’t seem to strip my hair of any of its natural oils. The reason I say this is because I didn’t get that squeaky feeling to my hair that you often get from certain other shampoos. I did find that I had to use quite a lot of the product and do a triple wash before I really felt convinced my hair was truly clean but this may be more down to my craziness than the product^^. Due to this I am a little concerned that I may rifle through bottles of this shampoo and although it will never hurt my hair it may end up hurting my pocket instead. I bought this product when I was in the states and it costs around $30 for 240ml but from what I can see in the UK the price seems to be higher coming in anywhere between £20-£30. Not bad for such a great shampoo but if I keep having to restock then the cost could mount up quickly.

Josh Rosebrook Nourish Conditioner Review

Of course I had to team the shampoo up with the conditioner as they are a pair. I applied this to my hair straight after rinsing the shampoo out and left it for about 5 minutes to work its magic. The conditioner was the exact opposite of the shampoo in terms of how much you need to apply and I found myself only ever needing a tiny amount that I applied to the bottom half of my hairs length. I might advise you to do the same thing I did and buy a smaller bottle of conditioner than shampoo so that you replace them both at the same time. The smell is exactly the same as the shampoo which I always think is a hugely sensible move from brands and obviously I liked it’s scent just as much as I did with the shampoo. Once again the ingredients list is gargantuan so you know precisely what you are putting onto your hair and they obviously spent a lot of time and devotion developing both products. Once I rinsed the conditioner off my hair was totally tangle free and felt beautifully moisturised. The price of the conditioner is exactly the same as the shampoo coming in at $30 for 240ml but on reflection I chose to get the smaller travel size as I don’t use as much conditioner and that size was a very appealing $8, so not bad at all!

After using these two products in unison I found my hair to be so soft, easy to manage and full of volume which obviously made me very pleased with this purchase. The lingering scent is beautifully light and fresh and lasts for ages. I have a feeling I will be going back for more of both but equally delving deeper into Josh Rosebrooks range as so far I have not been disappointed by any of the four products I have tested. I would love to hear from all of you if you have tested (or become a devotee of) any of Josh’s products so that I know exactly which one to add to Santa’s list for christmas!!
