4 Natural Body Oils – Review

Natural Body Oils Review

I have to hold my hands up and tell the truth, I seem to have used quite a lot of natural body care products this year. When I say ‘quite’ a few, I mean more than I should have even if I were a dermatologist with a queue of chemically intolerant clients stretching down the street! Let me put it this way……. have enough empty bottles to start a dairy now. Now I come to mention this though I find this fact a little peculiar because I always feel that this is the part of my body routine that I find the most tiresome. I also often wonder if since living in London that my skin is a lot drier than it was previously. Is the water in London especially harsh on your skin? Is it the pollution? Or is it just me? So to try and combat this below are a list of some of the Body Oil’s I have been testing recently. I must admit I do also use Body cream so I will definitely do another list of those soon too! But for now, to the oils…….

Rahua Body Amazon Oil is definitely the one I have used the most this summer, mostly because of the fragrance! It smells like a dream and instantly transports you directly to a beach in an exotic tropical island. It leaves such a subtle, beautiful smell over your entire body. As well as the smell it’s a very lightweight oil that sinks into the skin quickly. It’s perfect to use in the morning when you need to get dressed straight after! It‘s made with a mix of Ungurahua, Rosehip and Buriti oil to give your skin a boost of hydration and antioxidants. If you use it on damp skin it holds moisture very well. It is a really expensive oil but I managed to get it on sale with 70% off so definitely worth it!!

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil is formulated utilising a myriad of oils (jojoba, sesame, macadamia, wheat germ, pomegranate, etc …) with soothing, antioxidants and regenerating properties. The consistency of the oil is quite thick but it absorbed easily into the skin without leaving a greasy film. It definitely makes my skin shine and ensures hydration throughout the entire day. It leaves my skin so soft and smelling delicious so I have to mention how much I love it’s gourmet oriental scent composed of orange, davana and vanilla essential oils.

Natural Body Oils Review

Vitalising All Over Oil is part of the conscious range from H&M which is certified organic by Ecocert. I’ve talked about this body oil previously here and used to like the citrus smell but recently have started to find it quite pungent to the point where I really can’t bear the smell anymore and find it far too overpowering. I used to love adding it to my bath but it’s designed as a multi use oil so it can be used for bath, hair and body. I have tried it a few times now on my body but I really don’t like the feeling as it seems to take a while to absorb into the skin and leaves a slightly greasy layer.

Voya Angelicus Serratus Oil is the last oil I have been testing. I had never encountered this brand before but was fortunate to find out all about them when I was at the Soil Association event. I am actually really pleased I discovered them though as it’s a lovely product that has now nestled perfectly into my little body oil collection. The first time I used it I was afraid that it might leave a greasy film on my skin due to it’s thick texture but to my happy surprise this was not the case at all. The oil penetrates speedily and my skin stays hydrated and sumptuously soft throughout the day. Compared to the other oils this one has a very light scent so if you re looking for something subtle, it might just be perfect for you. Formulated with Evening Primrose, Rosehip and Sunflower oils… a great selection of very nourishing oils which also are known to slow down the process of skin aging.

Have you experienced any of these body oils yet? Don’t forget to tell me your fave way to hydrate your skin by leaving a comment below!
