DIY Hair Mask For DRY and Fine Hair

I shared one of my favourite DIY recipes for dry and fine hair on my Instagram Stories a few weeks ago. It had such positive feedback I thought I should share it on my blog for anyone who missed it or doesn’t follow me Instagram.

As I can personally attest, Dry and fine hair is a chore to maintain. It requires special attention and without regular care can end up brittle, dull and dehydrated. It also has a tendency to get tangled very easily.

As a great remedy to save your mane there is nothing better than a good homemade hair mask. Especially one made from a mixture of nourishing carrier oils and ingredients with moisturizing properties.

Here is a simple recipe to revive your dry hair.

  • Ingredients

For this hair mask you’ll need:

2 tablespoons of kukui oil
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1 tablespoon of broccoli oil
1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon agave syrup

✓Aloe vera available on Purnatural .
✓Carrier oils are available on Aroma-Zone.

  • Why these ingredients?

         →Nourishing ingredients:

Kukui oil is one of my favorite oils. It’s an excellent detangler for dry and fragile hair. It deeply penetrates the hair fibre leaving it soft and shiny.

Avocado oil is perfect for dry and dull hair as it strengthens and adds shine.

Broccoli oil has a very specific smell which is not very pleasant but really worth it! It works miracles, smoothing and taming frizz without weighing down the hair.

        →Moisturizing ingredients:

Aloe vera gel is the key ingredient to moisturize the hair making it soft and silky.

The agave syrup brings suppleness and hydration to the hair.

  • Recipe

You are going to absolutely love how simple this amazing mask is as all you have to do is mix all the ingredients together in a bowl……..and voila, your mask is ready!

  • Application

Apply this mask to dry hair, from roots to ends. Massage your scalp for a few minutes before doing the same to your lengths.

Next, wrap your hair under film (the heat formed under the plastic will help the penetration of the mask into the hair fibres) and leave it for a minimum of 1 hour. To finish, rinse and shampoo. I would advise repeating this process once a week for best results.

Finally, sit back and admire the results…..beautifully soft hair which is deeply nourished and hydrated.

If you try this hair mask, please leave me your impressions in the comments as I would love to know how it works on other people’s hair and if it is as effective as it is on mine!
