VERTUE NATURAL BEAUTY AND HEALTH BOX #3

You all know I love a beauty box, right? I am also presuming that if you have spent any time involved in the natural beauty world then you probably love them too! If you haven’t yet been introduced to beauty boxes then they are a great way to test out loads of new products and be introduced to brands you may not have come across (you can find previous Beauty Box reviews I have done here and here). This month, Vertue Box have collaborated with the health food blogger ‘Happy Skin Kitchen’ to release their beauty box containing a variety of 9 mini and full size products. There is a mixture of natural cosmetics and healthy products so let’s dive in and see what treasures are contained within…….

Optiat The Hungover Coffee Scrub (full size 220g, value £9.99) – We start with a body scrub made from coffee, brown sugar, salt, shea butter, sweet almond oil and peppermint essential oil. It’s a scrub that helps eliminate dead cells, stimulate blood circulation and reduce cellulite. It’s really simple to use, just apply to wet skin, massage in circular motion and leave for a few minutes before rinsing. It exfoliates very well and really moisturizes the skin. Its smell of coffee and peppermint gives a real boost to help you wake up in the morning. I also always appreciate when products are packaged in a tube as it’s much more practical in the bathroom and far more hygienic.

Weleda Skin Food (travel size 30ml, value £7.95) – This ultra-rich multi-function cream is perfect for the winter season! Enriched with sweet almond oil, beeswax, rosemary, wild pansy, chamomile and calendula it’s the perfect cream for preventing skin from drying out. It’s great for use on very dry areas of the face and body as a lip balm or hand/foot cream as its both nourishing and restorative. The texture is quite thick and greasy so you need to massage it well into the skin to penetrate which means i would advise you to use it in the evening. I find the smell too medicinal for my taste but definitely not unpleasant.

Siskyn Serum (travel size 10ml, value £14) – This is a 100% natural anti-aging serum which is vegan and cruelty free. It’s made of a combination of 17 vegetable oils (including apricot, avocado, rose hip, pomegranate, sea buckthorn…) and essential oils (Helichrysum Italian, petit grain bigarade, lemon, carrot, geranium, lavender) which have regenerating, nourishing and antioxidant properties. This treatment should only really be used in the evening due to the presence of lemon essential oil which is photosensitive. I can’t wait to start testing it out as this oil has been awarded the prize for the best night serum by the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2017, so I am expecting great things!

Nini Organics Natura Miracle Mask (travel size 15ml, value £4.50) – A 100% natural and vegan mask in powder form to which you add water making a thick paste and apply on your face. Made using cocoa, pink clay, activated coconut charcoal, green clay, rhassoul, coconut milk powder, hibiscus, neem, spirulina, turmeric and cinnamon this mixture of powders clean the skin, remove impurities and stimulate microcirculation. On paper, this treatment seems to be spectacular but as I have not tested it yet I’m very curious to see the results!

Luna Kloris Face Oil (5ml sample size, value £4.60) – The last beauty product in the box is a tiny bottle of ‘Go For The Glow’ face oil. It is a mixture of carrier oils (green tea, jojoba, passion fruit, rosehip) and essential oils (lime and mandarin) with regenerating, softening and firming properties. Its smell is fresh and fruity with sweet citrus notes. This oil seems good but with a teeny tiny 5ml bottle……it definitely won’t go far!

Tea Cleanse Inner Support (1 tea bag, value £0.30) – I am a big consumer of teas of all kinds so I am delighted to be able to test this one. It’s made with a combination of detoxifying nettle, diuretic dandelion, anti-inflammatory licorice, antioxidant milk thistle and toxin eliminating lemon peel. A delicious mix and good for our body.

Creative Nature Chia seeds (full size 200g, value £4.99) – These small seeds, which are considered as a superfood, are low in calories yet rich in nutrients, fatty acids, proteins, fiber, omega-3s, minerals and antioxidants. They can be added to all kinds of food and drinks including cereals, yogurts, salads, juices, smoothies and soups. Personally I like to eat them every morning with my granola, muesli or porridge.

One Earth Superfoods (full size 125g, value £18.20) – Shine Bright is a 100% pure powder blend of 5 organic superfoods. It contains acai berry, baobab, goji berries, moringa and matcha green tea which are rich in vitamins, calcium, potassium but also magnesium. All these elements help the health of skin, hair and nails! The mixture can be added to a smoothie, yogurt, juice or milkshake. So far I have only tried it in a smoothie and it seemed pretty good.

Kiki Health Alkaline Infusion (travel size 20g, value £6) – I have already tried quite a few Kiki Health products that I really like and I hope I will be equally enamoured by this food supplement! Made of lemon juice, inulin (34%) vitamin C, bamboo and acerola, this powder-based alkaline infusion is rich in calcium, magnesium and potassium. Its effects are beneficial on for ot only health but also the beauty of skin, teeth and bones. Opening the pot I was pleasantly surprised by how good it smells so I was eager to try it in a glass of water and it tastes just as nice…….fruity and subtle, a real treat!

Once again, I am hugely pleased by this Virtue Box whose total combined product value this month rises to £70.53. The box is available as a bimonthly subscription for £37, so its definitely a steal! What do you think of the contents of this box?
