It has been such a long time since I last talked about makeup on my blog that I thought a catch up is well overdue! I have talked about Maison Jacynthe already on here. They are a Canadian brand that offers a range of make-up made from natural ingredients and have recently become a favourite of mine. I previously tested a bronzer, blush and lipstick, all of which are available on this article if you want to know more. So today I’m going to review their latest products; a foundation, an illuminator and one of their nail polishes.
Liquid Foundation – Sable
I actually stopped using foundation for a while but this one totally seduced me! The product comes in a glass pump bottle which is elegant, classy and convenient! Formulated with borage oil and coffee it has anti-aging, firming and regenerative properties. It is a 100% natural foundation and non-comedogenic. Its fluid texture is easily to apply with a brush or finger and blends perfectly into the skin. It unifies the skin tone and hides small patches of redness with a very natural light coverage. The finish is pretty and luminous. I would recommend it to skin that has only small and shallow imperfections because the coverage is quite light
Powder Highlighter Soleil Petillant
Here is a product that definitely deserves its name. The shade of this illuminator is a bright and sublime golden beige. It illuminates all the strategic points of my face; the top of the cheekbones, the underside of the brow bone, the corner of the eyes and cupidon’s bow. It is quite a subtle highlighter but you can definitely see that it gives a natural finish with beautiful golden shine. Its 100% natural and is formulated with coffee extracts, corn, babassu butter, macadamia oil and apricot. A beautiful selection of ingredients that bring radiance whilst also moisturizing! I really like this highlighter!
Nail Polish – Roma
Maison Jacynthe is one of the few brands to offer ‘9 free’ nail polishes. This means that they won’t contain 9 of the most questionable chemical ingredients: formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, paraben, xylene, camphor, styrene, benzophenone. In addition the nail polishes are vegan certified by Peta. As there are 10 very beautiful shades I found choosing between them was difficult but I plumped for the Roma which is a very pretty intense red burgundy, ideal for winter. One coat is enough to cover the nails but with two coats, the color is perfectly opaque. I really like its wide brush It makes it so easy to apply. There was only one real downside as it doesn’t really last that long and starts to chip by the third day.
