Last weekend my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to the coast! We booked a lovely hotel by the sea just to relax and unwind and get away from the noise and craziness of London for a while. As always, when I’m not sleeping at home, I make sure to take all my own products with me rather than playing russian roulette with my skin and risk having to use the ones supplied in the hotel. So I went to check my drawers, that are filled especially for occasions such as this with travel size products, to select some to come on our adventure. This process always excites me as it means I’m going to get to try out some new products! The ones which caught my eyes this time were the combo Body Wash and Body Lotion from Bamford. I am sure you will all agree with me when you check out their packaging that they look so luxurious and elegant and would fit beautifully into even the most regal of bathrooms^^.
I liked the Bamford Body Wash so much that even since I returned home I have continued to use it (and worried with every use about how quickly this little bottle will run out). I find that it really perks me up and the best way I can describe it is to say that it’s hugely uplifting! It’s fresh and vibrant with an invigorating aromatic blend of eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint and geranium. It has a really strong smell that gives you a fantastic wake up call, exactly the kind of product you need if you really aren’t a morning person and need a boost to lift you up. It’s made from 81% organic ingredients certified by the Soil Association and packaged in a bottle that is 100% recyclable and cruelty free. The body wash lathers up really well even if you use just a small amount (still not quite to the levels of conventional shower gels, with their harsh chemicals, which I find now create a slightly overwhelming lather)! It’s one of the best shower gels I have ever tried particularly as it doesn’t make you feel at all dry afterwards and it smells incredible.
Body lotions are one of those things that I should apply much more often but I find the process so long and boring. However, when products smell as divine as this one it makes the process much more enjoyable and actually makes me want to take the time to do a really good job. This Body Lotion is full of natural and organic ingredients which are incredibly nourishing and hydrating for the skin. It contains beautiful ingredients such as honey to help hydrate the skin, aloe vera for its soothing properties and jojoba, shea butter and almond Oil to deeply nourish the skin. It has a milky texture that applies easily, absorbs quickly and leaves your skin smelling of what I can only describe as somewhere between citrus and mint, yet neither of those quite manages to explain the aroma sufficiently. The body lotion contains a similar selection of essential oils (lavender, peppermint and geranium) as the body wash but the smell is much lighter and softer. It just leaves a really light smell on the skin that relaxes you and leaves you feeling nicely chilled out. The consistency of the lotion too is laudable as it is light and leaves the skin feeling hydrated, conditioned and nourished. Something else that I really like about this lotion is that you can get dressed instantly after applying it without feeling sticky or greasy!
I will finish this review by admitting that these are definitely not the cheapest body wash or body lotion around but they are a real treat and I will definitely be purchasing them in full size as soon as possible! Have you tried these products yet? I would love to hear your thoughts and if you are going to restock your bathroom with these products like I will?
